With only a few weeks left to go in the racing season, Oratory and Dance With Ravens are battling neck-to-neck for the title of Maryland’s leading freshman sire of 2009.
Oratory (2002; Pulpit—Arrested Dreams, by Dehere), standing at Country Life Farm in Bel Air, has progeny earnings of $328,571 and 14 juvenile winners – the most 2-year-old winners of any Mid-Atlantic sire, and a stellar 61percent of his starters. He is represented by stakes-placed Myrtle’s Gray, Work for a Cure and Miz Maggie Mae.
Progeny earnings for Dance With Ravens (2002; A.P. Indy—Dance Smartly, by Danzig) total $324,198. He has eight winners. Dance With Ravens stands at Northview Stallion Station in Chesapeake City.
