Current Press Releases and News Former MHBA President Hal C. B. Clagett dies at 93
Hal C.B. Clagett, the former Maryland Horse Breeders Association President who crafted the legislation that created the Maryland-bred Fund in 1962, died on February 1 at the age of 93.
A longtime leading Maryland breeder, Mr. Clagett was represented by numerous stakes winners, including Maryland-bred millionaire Little Bold John.
Services will be conducted on Friday, February 5, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, 14519 Church Street, Upper Marlboro, Md.
The family has requested that any memorial donations in Mr. Clagett’s name be sent to the Maryland Horse Industry Foundation, in care of the MHBA, Box 427, Timonium, Md. 21094.
